Abstract

This volume is a catalog of bird specimens collected on Southern Island Cruise (SIC) 9 on the Pacific Ocean in September and October 1965 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Locations include Howland Island, Baker Island, Christmas Island [Kiritimati], and McKean, Hull, Phoenix, and Enderbury Islands [of the Phoenix Group]. Fields are not labeled but appear to include field number, species, sex, location, date, gonads, weight, and remarks. Field numbers span from 5756 to 5867. Species include Puffinus spp., Procelsterna cerulea, Pterodroma alba, and others. The remarks field includes information such as whether soft part colors were recorded, whether the stomach was saved, fat condition, and skinner. Skinners include Amerman, P. Woodward, Harrington, and others.
