Abstract

The notebook documents Harrison G. Dyar's observations of collected insects and related rearing data for 1902 - 1903. Pages are numbered. Entries are organized by specimen numbers 1123 - 1374, and begin with name, sex, locality, date, followed by description. Details include behavior and appearance with details about colors and measurements. These usually correlate with phase of development and related date. Sometimes lists catalog number and sketches. Inside the front cover is a note, “Harrison G. Dyar, Center Harbor, NH, July 9, 1902, Mosquitoes, p. 12, 21, 29, 31, 68, 110, 184 (1902-4)”. Parts were copied in 1904. Locations are in New Hampshire (Center Harbor, Durham); Connecticut (New Haven); California (Santa Clara); Florida (Key West); and British Columbia, Canada (Kaslo).
