Abstract

This volume is a catalog of bird specimens collected on Southern Island Cruise (SIC) 7 on the Pacific Ocean in February and March 1965 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. On the cover of the volume, the cruise is referred to as ATF #7. It appears that the same records can be found in the ATF #7 section of Southern island cruises 1-8, 1963-1965, part 2 : SIC 1-8, in Box 200 Folder 2 of this same collection, SIA RU000245 (item Southern island cruises 1-8, 1963-1965, part 2 : SIC 1-8). Locations include Howland Island, Baker Island, Tutuila, and islands of the Line Islands and the Tokelau Islands. Fields include field number, species, island, date, weight, type, and remarks. Field numbers span from 5101 to 5281. USNM numbers, where provided, are approximately within the range of 494380 and 494532. In addition to bird species, a few mammal species are also listed, including Rattus exulans. The primary collectors listed are L. N. Huber and RDK.
