Abstract

The notebook documents Harrison G. Dyar's observations of collected insects and related rearing data for 1899 - 1900. Entries are organized by specimen numbers 741 - 900, though not always sequential. Entries begin with name, vegetation, collector if other than Dyar, date, followed by descriptions. These entail behavior and appearance including colors and measurements with related dates. Includes sketches of specimen anatomy (some with leaves), notes, edits, used as a receipt book for Mrs. Dyar, 1878. Locations are in New York (Bellport, Brookhaven); Virginia (Chain Bridge); and Florida (Palm Beach).
