Abstract

The field book documents J.B. Henderson, Jr.'s collecting efforts in Haiti in 1917. The notebook begins with a list of specimens, listing scientific name, location, and descriptions of location. Number 1-95 are basic entries, but 96-275 include more extensive descriptions and sketches. Some descriptive entries are not in English, maybe copied reference texts, but not clearly cited. The list of specimens is followed by descriptions of collection sites. These details are usually several pages, and some include sketches. Sites visited include the vicinity of Fortune Island, San Souci, Plaine du Nord, Port-au-Prince, and Petit Goâve.
