Abstract

This item consists of miscellaneous field notes and specimen lists from the field work of Bernard R. Ross, dating from 1848-1862. Lists include bird, egg, and mammal specimens donated to the Smithsonian Institution with species name, date, locality, sex, physical characteristics and measurements, collector, and additional remarks. There are multiple lists, but the largest is numbered 1-1994. There are also additional separate notes on certain species, as well as an invoice and a portion of an index to Ross' catalog. Localities mentioned include but may not be limited to areas within the Northwest Territories of Canada.
