Abstract

Field notes on various genera of coral, 1876 and undated, created by Richard Rathbun during a collecting trip to various parts of Brazil. Notes are divided into nine sections: Porites solida, Caryophyllia, Crinoidea, Phyllangia, astrangia, Coenocyathus, Lepidopora, Flavia, and Orbicella. Notes include drawing of formations; a hand drawn map of Bay of Bahia, Varra da Cruz, and Barra do Ti; narrative descriptions; descriptions; distribution notes; and measurements. Localities also include Itaparica ([Ponte de Jaburu?] to [Ponte da Pena?]); Rio Formoso; Parahyba do Norte [currently Paraíba]; Mar Grande reef in Bahia.
