Abstract

Field notes, 1876-1877, created by Richard Rathbun during a collecting trip to various parts of Brazil. Notes are divided into six sections: fish, [echinoidea?], cephalopoda and gastropoda, bryzoans, asteriodea, and [actinaica?]. Sketches are included throughout the field book. Notes include clippings from reprints pasted into various sections. Field notes include the location the specimens were observed or collected, abundance or rarity of the specimen, physical characteristics (especially when accompanied by a sketch), and other details. Localities include Bahia, Rio Formoso, Rio de Janero, Itapagipe [Itapajipe], and perhaps other localities.
