They describe travel details (routes, time of day, mode of transportation), colleagues with whom worked (including Bob Miller collecting fish for the Department of Fish and Wildlife), vegetation (including farmland) and terrain observed enroute (including from plane), birds and mammals observed (quantity, type, appearance, behavior, birds songs), interactions with local inhabitants (including staff and officials), specimens collected, and collecting methods (sometimes listed with quantity, type, time of day or night). Sometimes at the end of entries ,there are lists of observations for mammals and birds with type and counts. Localities are sometimes identified by railroad crossing or distance from town. Travel route went through New Orleans (Louisiana) to sites throughout Guatemala.
