Kure, Midway, 1963, 1965, part 1

Abstract

This volume is a catalog of bird specimens collected on islands of Kure Atoll and the Midway Islands on the Pacific Ocean in 1963 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Record dates span from September 6 to December 11, 1963. Fields numbers span from 20001 to 20179; they are a subset of the records that appear in "Specimen catalog : Kure, Midway, 1963-1965." Data are essentially the same for the records in common in both catalogs, but not all remarks, etc. are identically worded. A note on the front cover says "#2 (Actually original of much of that in #1)." A note inside the front of the volume says "Original. Copy on Kure to #20178. New catalogue start Jan. 1964. McBee cards are true original catalog." Approximately halfway through the volume, another section with the heading "Record" begins. This section is a daily field log of research activities from September 6 to December 9, 1963 [author unknown]. Information recorded under individual dates includes numbers of collections made, birds observed, banding data, band recoveries, etc.
