Abstract

The notebook documents Harrison G. Dyar's observations of collected insects and rearing data for 1894. It begins with a list of expenses. Entries are organized by specimen number and are headed with name, locality, and date, sometimes collector if other than Dyar. This is followed by description, relating to stage of development and correlating dates. Descriptions include appearance, color, diet, and measurements. There are pasted inserts. Specimens were sent from England. Includes an a large quantity of hand-drawn sketches at various stages. Locations are in New York (Keene Valley).
