Abstract

The notebook documents Harrison G. Dyar's observations of collected insects and rearing data for 1893 - 1894. Entries were organized by specimen number, and headed with vegetation, locality, and date. Entries describe appearance and stage of development, sometimes specimen preparation. Details include appearance, color, measurements, and phases of development with related dates. There are some references to catalog numbers. Includes loose inserts with notes on specimens. Some specimens were sent to him by other collectors. Includes notes through 1897. Locations include New Jersey (Weehawken), New Mexico (Las Cences), Washington, and New York.
