Abstract

The notebook documents Harrison G. Dyar's observations of collected insects and rearing data, 1893 - 1894. Inserted notes, part copied in 1894. Entries are organized by specimen number, and headed with name, locality, date, sometimes vegetation, sex, and description. Descriptions include appearance, behavior, colors, measurements, and relating to phase of the life cycle with dates. Loose inserts includes sketches of insect anatomy and notes. Collecting locations include Massachusetts (Woods Hole) and New York (Plattsburgh).
