Abstract

William Dall records observations of areas around California, 1901, while working for the United States Geological Survey. Information includes geological, fossil and shell study of the area along bluffs and shorelines of sites. Near Crescent city he visits the bluffs along the shore of Lake Earle down to Pebble beach, giving detailed description of strata and characteristics of rock and fossils observed. There are detailed notes about Miocene and Pliocene epochs sandstone formations. Most of the notebook is blank.
