Abstract

The notebook documents Harrison G. Dyar's observations and collecting of insect in Yosemite, California, 1891. Entries are organized by specimen number and includes collecting location, date, sometimes vegetation, with descriptions of specimen and life cycle. Details include appearance, color per part of anatomy, sex, diet, and measurements. Changes in appearance are often dated and include measurements. Some locations are specified with trail names (i.e. Nevada trail). There are sketches of insect anatomy. Notes dated through 1898.
