Abstract

Envelopes 17 - 48 entail images (negatives) of Edward A, Chapin during his time in Chile and few in Cuba in 1937. Most images are undated, but most likely document his travel in 1948. Images are in envelopes labeled with subject matter and location. Subject matter includes vistas of towns, harbors, town buildings and parks, experiment stations, accommodations, candid images and portraits of colleagues and acquaintances, vegetation (pinus insignis), and earthquake damage (Concepción). Some envelopes are empty. Portrait taken in Cuba includes list of individuals photographed. Locations include but not limited to Puerto Montt, Niebla, Isla Chiloé, Temuco, Penco, Chile; Habana province, Cuba (1937).
