This folder contains lists, reports, and field notes documenting the vegetation of Phoenix Island [Rawaki] and field work done there by C. R. Long in July and November 1964. Included in the folder are 14 pages of handwritten field notes from July 10-13 and November 4-6, 1964 that document plants encountered, collector's numbers, substrate, the placing of numbered posts, and bird species observed. No author name is on the notes, but at least those from July 1964 may have been recorded by C. R. Long, as the content is similar to typed notes by C. R. Long also in this folder. With the field notes is a bird checklist completed for Phoenix Island by C. R. Long for 4-7 November [1964]. Pages of a report draft (no author or date) provide a detailed characterization of the vegetation of Phoenix Island. Photocopies of other documents by C. R. Long report on field work activities, plant species collected (Long 2077-2089), and soil samples taken during July 10-13, 1964.
