Abstract

The field notes document William Dall's explorations in Oregon and California, 1890, including (Oregon) Astoria, Eugene, Port Orford, Shoalwater Bay; (California) Redding, Stockton, California Valley gravels, Livermore Valley, and Susanville. Pages are numbered. Contains descriptions of geological formations sometimes with cross sections and descriptions of layers as well as sites of specimen collecting. These are followed by lists of fossils listed by geological time scale, including Miocene series, Pleistocene series, and Quarternary period. Lists also identify location where observed or collected.
