Abstract

The field catalog documents the mammal specimens collected by J. H. Shaw for the Smithsonian Institution African Mammal Project, May 22, 1962 - August 10, 1963. Entries are headed with date and locality (combination of country, region, distance from, sometimes elevation). Covers specimen number (113 - 1507), sex, name, some USNM catalog numbers, 4 measurements. Sometimes includes additional measurements, specimen characteristics (i.e. lactating), additional measurements, weight, age or habitat. Some specimens are lizards, snakes, amphibians, mollusks, birds, fish, and insects. Collecting in Mexico includes work with A. D. Stock. There are notes on catches related to ecology in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Locations are in Libya, Madagascar, Mexico, and United States (Utah, Arizona).
