Abstract

This item is a field journal by Alexander Wetmore with entries from 1917-1919. The dates of June 4th-9th, 1917 are added as loose sheets in the back. Dated entries consist of accounts of hunting and collecting specimens, as well as behavioral observations, travel details, and daily activity. Localities include but are not limited to areas within the United States, including North Carolina, Kansas, Florida, and Arizona. Entries mainly deal with birds, and may include lists with daily tallies. Some entries deal with specific local bird issues, such as investigation into birds posing a threat to crops. Some newspaper clippings are also included.
