Abstract

The notebook cover indicates that volume documents ectoparasites collected by Hearst, Robbins, and Vaden from mammal specimens as part of the Smithsonian Institution African Mammal Project, 1969 - 1970. The notebook lists catalog numbers for R. E. Vaden (4431 - 6578) and M. G. Hearst (101 - 2401), and records the presence of fleas, mites, ticks, lice; genus of host (sometimes sex); and remarks. Remarks includes notes when no parasites are found, color indication (i.e. green, blue, red), parasite location, and additional unidentified information.
