Abstract

Miscellaneous notes and letters document participants in the Smithsonian Institution African Mammal Project, c. 1961 - 1972. Materials often include dates without years indicated. Materials are in several formats. There are lists of specimens collected and locations, with corrections. Some of the materials document the work of M. G. Hearst and Lynn Robbins, including specimens collected per site and date with quantities. There is also correspondence from Lynn Robbins to recipient identified as "boss" discussing campsites and aspects of specimen collecting including requests and environmental challenge, as well as lists of results, noting location (sometimes with latitude and longitude), date, type, and quantity. There are also notes on specimens, some headed with USNM number and type specimens. Indicated locations include regions in Morocco.
