Abstract

The diary documents William Healey Dall's daily activities during 1865. During the period he took part in the Western Union Telegraph Expedition. Entries covering this run from March - December. Details activities during expedition, interactions of participants, temperature, weather, collecting efforts. Includes a list of contacts and location, list of expenses, list of correspondents related correspondence, list of expedition participants, passenger list aboard the Golden Gate, scientific report for 1865 with comments on specimens collected and expedition participants.
