Abstract

Correspondence documents participation in the Western Union Telegraph Expedition. Includes a report from Alexander C. Anderson on the country between the Fraser River and Stuart Lake, 1865. It describes what would be a doable path to follow, notes terrain, prevalence and types of trees available along route, and distances between locations (towns and geographical landmarks). Locations named include Stuart Lake, Fraser Lake, Okanogan, Red Earth, Kamloops, Lac de Nicholas, and Red Earth.
