Abstract

This field book consists of the travel notes of Hernando Garcia Barriga in Venezuela, and possibly Colombia. The notes are narrative and describe the landscape and vegetation observed. Altitude and temperature are recorded with some entries. Pastures, sugar mills, and roads are described. Some entries may include scientific names of plants with common local name counterparts. Localities include: San Gil (Colombia?) and Bogota (Venezuela). Several hand-drawn maps are included. All notes are in Spanish.
