Abstract

B. J. Hayward completed field work in Kenya as part of the African Mammal Project (Smithsonian Institution), June 23 - August 29, 1968. Entries are headed with date and location, sometimes with latitude and longitude. He traveled with David Hopcroft. Entries describe travel details like routes, locations including distances from, terrain (elevation) and vegetation seen enroute, habitat, collector numbers, temperature and weather, colleagues worked with, daily activities, times of day, specimens collected (quantity, type, and sex), insects found on specimens, and collecting methods. At the end is a tally divided by sex and listed per location. Locations include Athi River, Mtito Andei, Ketale, Lukenia, MNaevacha, Maji Moto, Nairobi, Nakuru, Voi, Kenya; Amudat, Uganda.
