This field book consists of the field notes of M. E. Hale from collecting work in South Africa, 1988. The field notes include brief diary-type entries that describe daily activities and collections made. Notes on locality (including elevation) and habitat ("desert", "dry", "course granite knoll", etc.) included with most specimen entries. Localities include: Nylestroom, Augrabies Falls, Aggeneye, Cederburg Reserve, Saldanha Bay, Mount Fletcher, Luderitz (Namibia), and others. Collector numbers 79400 through 81638 are included.
