Abstract

Several field catalogs mostly of birds but also mammals, snakes, and fish Palmer collected from 1881 to 1897. Entries include collector or field number, scientific name, sex, date, and locality. 1) 6-16 July 1881, numbers 898 to 946, Cobb Island (VA) and other localities; 2) Smith Island, 23 August 1895 to 10 June 1897, 4059 to 4621b, and birds September 1897, 4750 to 4789, includes sketches of "air cells"; 3) birds observed on Smith Island 23 August to 8 September 1895 and September 1897, with occurrence information; 4) Dismal Swamp [currently Mill Creek] birds, 1896, 4239 to 4310; mammals, 1 to 33; 5) Snakes and fish, 2 - 16 June. Other miscellaneous notes including expenses are included. 77 pages.
