Abstract

Catalog of birds Fisher collected in California. Catalog is dated from 23 December 1890 to 17 September 1891. The first few pages record diary entries of Fisher's travels from Kansas to Arizona, recording birds observed. A list of birds collected in California follows. Fisher records number, scientific name, sex, locality (often abbreviated), and date. USNM catalog number was added later in red ink. Collector numbers are 1-436. Localities include but are not limited to Kern River, Coso Mountains, Argus Mountains, Paramount Mountains, San Bernadino, and Cajon Pass.
