Abstract

The field catalog documents the mammals collected by J. L. Paradiso in Florida, Maryland, and Virginia, December 16, 1957 - June 13, 1958. Entries are in a variety of formats. These include specimen lists with specimen number (300 - 384), type, sex, date, locality (state, county, towns, landmarks, and distance from), and measurements (3 to 4 types); narrative descriptions of locality with details about habitat and vegetation; expenses; narrative describing Mesoplodon on beach in Florida with measurements and contact details for individuals in area who assisted; and narrative about trip to Assateague Island June 4 - 14, describing work completed with individuals (Bob McCoy and Feinstein), locations where collected, collecting methods,along with types and quantities collected (mammals). Notes that Feinstein collected birds. At the end is a description of a Condylura Cristata and its habitat. Locations include the vicinity of Calvert County, Maryland; Vero Beach, Florida; and Assateague Island (Accomack County), Virginia. A portion of a notebook is blank.
