Abstract

Notebook documents Fielding Meek's paleontological work in Kansas during 1858. Pages are numbered, and entries are dated. Includes 26 numbered cross sections that are labeled and include notes. Journal entries describe weather; descriptions of terrain, locations and travel in between. Journal entries are dated September 4 -21, 1858. At the back of the notebook is a list of expenses for "Kansas Expedition", dates August 23 - September 11, 1858. Locations include Judith River, Kansas River, Fort Leavenworth, Fort Riley, and Indianola.
