Abstract

This field book documents Meek's work with the Missouri Geological Survey, 1854. First section covers October 25 - November 7, 1854. Entries are listed by date and include locations, barometric readings, temperature, and descriptions of strata and rock formations. Descriptions cover characteristics and types of stone as well as cross sections with labels and details. Sometimes location information is the name of a property owner. In the back of the note book are the barometric readings for September 11 - October 24, 1854. Locations include the vicinity of Moniteau and Miller County in Missouri. Includes a detailed section of High-Point Lead Mine [High Point Lead Diggings].
