Abstract

Daily, narrative field notes on birds observed and collected by C. S. Newberry during the Black Hills Expedition. These notes were created from 3 May to 4 June 1875 in and near Fort Laramie, Laramie River, and other localities. Newberry describes daily activities such as skinning birds, observing birds, and collecting birds. Birds are listed by their scientific name, sometimes accompanied by quantity collected.
