Abstract

The field catalog documents the mammals collected by William Hampton Marshall in Idaho and Utah, December 10, 1929 - July 30, 1949. Entries cover specimen numbers (USNM catalog number and specimen number), sex, name (scientific), locality, date, measurements (total length, tail vertebrae, hind foot, front foot), weight (ounces), and remarks. Remarks include a combination of information about specimen preparation, terrain (type and elevation), quantity of embryos, vegetation and habitat, collector, specimen characteristics including weight, additional location information (including geological landmarks). Locations include sites across both states.
