Abstract

The field catalog documents the mammals collected by Ernest G. Holt in Alabama, Arizona, California, Nebraska, Nevada, South Dakota, Wyoming, January 24, 1912 - October 28, 1915. Entries include USNM catalog number (non consecutive), specimen number (1 - 487), sex, name (scientific), locality (state, county, town, or geological landmark), date, measurements (3 types), and remarks. Remarks cover a combination of specimen condition, preparation, characteristics (i.e. pouches contained 8 beech nuts or presence and quantity of fetuses), habitat, additional location information (i.e. Forster's old mill on Town Creek or name of ranch), altitude, and notes on exchanges.
