Abstract

The field catalog documents the mammals collected by Francis Harper in Alberta (Canada), Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and Virginia, December 13, 1916 - October 21, 1920. Entries include some USNM catalog numbers (non consecutive), specimen number (1 - 82), sex, name (scientific name), locality (town, state, geological landmark, distance from landmarks), date, measurements (total, tail vertebrae, hind foot), and remarks. Remarks cover a combination of stomach contents, habitat and vegetation (i.e. among crab-grass in a cultivated field), weight, collector, time of day collected, specimen condition,and collecting method. Locations include Reidsville, Billy's [Billys]Island, Floyd's Island, Ware county, Georgia; Fairfax county, Virginia; Plummers Island, Maryland; multiple locations in Alberta, Canada.
