This item consists of two lists of plants collected on the United States Exploring Expedition (also known as "Wilkes Expedition" from 1838 to 1842. The lists were possibly compiled by Timothy E. Wilcox, though no names are indicated on the item. The lists are stamped by the U.S. National Herbarium stamp in 1893. Collector numbers 6719 through 7932 and 7342 through 8341 are included. Entries list collector number, scientific name, and nation or island group collected.
