Abstract

This field book consists of lists of specimens collected and botanical illustrations of F. A. Walpole, in Oregon The first section of the book includes a list of specimens collected, arranged alphabetically by scientific name. Entries include number, scientific name, locality. Also included is a list of what may be specimens or illustrations sent to Mr. Coville from Portland in 1899. The second section of the book includes a list of Walpole's watercolor paintings of medicinal plants. Entries list number, name, collector and collector number, "kind of drawing" (watercolor, pencil), and date. The third section of the book includes a list of specimens, possibly collected in Alaska on the Harriman Alaska Expedition. Entries list scientific name, physical description, locality, date. Some entries include Tlingit names of plants. Localities for the field book include: Portland (OR), Unalaska (AK), Kodiak (AK).
