Abstract

The field catalog documents the mammals collected by Thomas Dearborn Burleigh in Washington DC, Georgia, and North Carolina, January 1930 - April 1934. Entries include USNM catalog number (non consecutive), specimen number (1 - 140), sex, name (scientific name), locality, date, measurements (3 types), and remarks. The remarks provide additional location information (i.e. Pisgah Nation Forest or Bent Creek), elevation, quantity of embryos. Locations include the vicinity of Asheville, North Carolina, and Mount Mitchell.
