Abstract

The field book documents the egg collection of Jonathan Dwight, 1879 - 1880. Entries are organized by specimen number. This book includes 941 - 1362. The entries have a variety of information, including type of bird (scientific name), collector, date, quantity, habitat where found including type of vegetation, nest materials, locality (town, state, sometimes geological landmarks), and method of procurement. There are multiple collectors. Some materials were collected in the 1860's. Locations include the vicinity of Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut; vicinity of Quebec and New Brunswick, Canada. A portion of the notebook is blank.
