Abstract

The field book documents the collection of Jonathan Dwight, 1877 - 1879. Pages are numbered. Entries varied but include a combination of specimen number (1 - 975); type of bird (scientific name); sometimes common name; date; quantity, condition, and description of eggs; habitat where found including notes on nest construction and vegetation; collector; method of procurement; and measurements. Includes specimens collected in 1872. There are multiple collectors. Locations include Massachusetts, New Jersey, Florida, California; Hillsborough, New Brunswick, Canada.
