Entries are dated and describe weather, time of day he started collecting, lists of types and quantities of specimens collected (birds and mammals), daily work, travel details (distances traveled, destinations, routes, campsites), observations of locations and abundance of wildlife, terrain including description of soil composition. Collecting includes Grafton, lakes in the vicinity of Saint John. Much of the notebook is blank.
