Abstract

This field book consists of the specimen labels for plants collected by John Torrey in California and Nevada, 1865. The labels are pasted into the book in chronological order by collector number. Collector numbers 293 through 500 are included. The labels are from the Herbarium of Columbia College, New York. The labels include collector number (written in with pencil) and locality. No scientific names of plants are included. Localities include: Napa Valley (CA), Empire City (NV), Santa Barbara County (CA), Clear Lake (CA), Bear Mountain (CA), and others.
