This field book consists of the field notes of Robert W. Read from a collecting trip to the Caribbean (including Dominica, Martinique, Grenada, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Florida, and possibly others) in 1968. The notes include: lists of plants observed; notes on native and introduced species; entries for specimens collected; and narrative notes describing landscape, vegetation, travel, and roads. Collector numbers 2000 through 2406 are included. An entry for "2000, Pitcairnia" is accompanied by a sketch, an inserted color photograph of the specimen, as well as the collected specimen in a plastic bag (labeled "Pit. 2000, 11th May 68). A loose list titled "A checklist of the palms growing in the Grenada National Zoo and Botanical Gardens" is included.
