PrintNotebook is a collection of geological definitions, observations and reference texts as recorded Fielding Meek. Pages are numbered. Begins with an index of types of stone and corresponding page numbers followed by locations. First portion of notebook includes descriptions and definitions of types of rock; pages 13-47, he records journal style entries describing his daily activities while traveling and observing limestone and sandstone strata in Kentucky. Subsequent pages are filled with notes and quotes to theories, geological formations, definitions and individuals he wishes to contact. During his travels in Kentucky he observes strata in eroded areas, visits local coal mines, collecting specimens, and details observations of an area of Powell Branch River. Includes sketches. Locations in Kentucky include vicinity of Mount Vernon, London, and Rowan County.
