Abstract

The field book documents A. H. Howell's field work in Florida, March 5 - May 3, 1919; December 25 - March 1, 1920. Entries are dated and describe travel details (destinations, times of day, accommodations, campsites), daily work, specimen collecting (mammals, birds) and habitat, work and interactions with local staff and individuals, and weather. Additional location information includes geological landmarks. A portion of the notebook is blank. Collecting locations for the first trip include Ft. Myers, Chokoloskee, and Immokalee. The second trip includes Goose Creek, Bonnet Landing, Alligator Creek, and the vicinity of northern Florida.
