Abstract

The field book documents A. H. Howell's field work in Arkansas, Louisiana, Montana, Tennessee, March 8 - July 30, 1910. Entries are dated and headed with location. Subject matter covers travel details (destinations, time of day, mode of transportation), meetings and interactions with colleagues, specimen collecting, preparations for field work. Many of the entries only indicate travel details and short discussion of work. A significant portion of the notebook is blank. Additional location description includes geological landmarks and names of landowners. Locations documented include Florence, Montana, near Sweeney Creek.
