Abstract

Photographs are from the Pinchot South Seas Expedition [South Pacific Ocean], 1929. Note cards include citations of reference texts. Photographs have captions and dates on the back. Some appear to have been used in publication. Subject matter includes examples of vegetation; birds and their nests; coastlines; and harbors. Locations were in areas of Marquesas Islands [Marquises, Îles] Galapagos Islands [Archipiélago de Colón] and Tuamotu Islands including Swan Island, Cocos Island, Fatu Hiva, Hood island [Fatu Huku], Indefatigable island and Barrington [Isla Santa Fe].
