Abstract

This field book consists of the field notes of T. R. Soderstrom from a collecting trip to Madagascar in 1985. Entries are diary-like and describe Soderstrom's travels, meetings and conversations with colleagues, reflections, itineraries, and observations of plants (mainly bamboo). Localities include: Tananarive (Antananarivo), Perinet, Tulear (Toliara). Soderstrom also travels to Nairobi (Kenya) briefly and includes some notes and observations from there.
