Abstract

The field book documents A. H. Howell's field work in Texas, June 27, 1905 - January 1906. Part of the notebook documents observations of insect damage (weevils) to crops in Kansas. Entries are dated and include lists of birds (common name) with notes on abundance, descriptions of terrain, notes on crops with notes on observed damage from weevils and their larvae, lists of mammals seen. Also includes list of expenses and miscellaneous notes. Locations are often identified by name of landowner (farmer). A portion of the notebook is blank. Locations includes Gurley, Cameron, West Point, Cuero, and Bellville.
